We're Moving on....
I kept thinking I'd get back here, after the 7700 mile road trip. Show you some of the gamillion photos we took across the country. There's a lot to cover in a road trip of 10 states and six weeks! The truth is, the morning we woke up in our own beds again, back in Texas, after our house being on the market for 365 days and off for two, we got a call. "So is your house for sale, or what?"
Why, yes it is! It's just not on the market. So here we are, three weeks later, with boxes and tape and packing paper, and files and lists upon lists, all around us. We've got 15 more days of lake life, then we'll be back in Dallas suburbia.
So we're going from the boonies, with 45,000 acres of water in our back yard, to .25 acres and the sound of neighbors mowing their grass on all sides. I'm excited! Kids and grandkids within 30 minutes of us, library, workout center, museums, coffee shops, bike paths, delivery pizza.....
Here are a few photos of the before of the place. Before we get moved in and start dreaming and planning.
Stairs with three levels so when a grandkid comes flying down, hopefully it's not as far....
Where I plan to spend the first night after the move. And many more.
The only wall I plan to paint ASAP. I'm not really a pale green person.
Just enough yard to own a mower, but not to obsess over. A great live oak for grandkids to climb, heated spa and play pool that I am tickled to death over. Magnolia trees around the pool - I've always wanted them in our yard.
Big kitchen with plenty of room for chili and football games, having friends and family over. And a sweet window over the sink for my suction bird feeder. Most of the appliances don't work, but we'll fix that.
I love this driveway! I'm seeing a basketball hoop over the garage, and scooters and tricycles and such, with all the grandkids out of the street. Perfect!
Right now it's just a house. A big, empty house. We're excited about getting there, and starting the process of making it a home. I'll be back soon. Soonish.
